Using Squidoo To Increase Your Web Site Traffic.

October 5th, 2007 · No Comments

Squidoo is a composed of a bunch of user created single pages that are called “lenses.”  Squidoo users create lenses about whatever they want.  Lenses are meant to display the user’s point of view or recommendations to certain products or content on the world wide web.

When creating a lens Squidoo gives you a bunch of ”modules” to help you fill your page with good content.  You can easily add polls, books you recommend on Amazon, youtube videos, eBay auctions, and much more by selecting the modules you want and then placing them in your lens.

Squidoo provides a fair opportunity to catch a few more visitors to your web site or blog. Plus, you get some money back for your work, not much, but it is something for your time. It is simple, free, and with enough work I imagine you could develop a contributable amount of traffic coming from your lenses to your web site or blog.  Don’t expect hundreds of extra visitors daily, that figure may be a bit hard to come by, unless you create hundreds of popular lenses on Squidoo, which would take a fair amount of work.

I created one lens for a friend to advertise her business.  I rarely ever touch it, but it has given her an extra 100 visitors in the period of 4 months.  In the future I plan on further experimenting with Squidoo to see how much traffic I can get from Squidoo to this blog.

Instead of creating a lens about your web site or blog, I suggest creating a lens or multiple lenses about ideas or topics you have on your blog and then at the end of the lens I’d put a link to your web site or blog with a line of text saying “Visit my site for more information.”  Create your own lens on Squidoo.
