Successful Site Provides Services For Flickr Users

August 30th, 2007 · No Comments

Sometimes I am amazed at the great web site ideas out there.  Today I stumbled upon a great web site that provides services for Flickr, a photo sharing community.

This web site that I found is filling a need and providing services for Flickr users, and it is reaping the rewards. In fact, the services this web site provides was used 4,446,782 times this month!

What is this web site, and what does it do to have it’s services be used 4,446,782 times in ONE month?

Flickr is a photo sharing site where users can post their pictures for everyone to see at Flickr.  Flickr is free to use.  The only thing that costs is if the Flickr user takes advantage of the option to create something with their pictures.  Flickr users can create all sorts of stuff out of their pictures such as; bumper stickers, calenders, postage stamps, books, etc.

So does Flickr provide anything free for the users that want to create something out of their pictures but not spend any money?  No, and that’s exactly why the web site Big Huge Labs is so popular among Flickr users.

Bighugelabs.com lets Flickr users create posters, name badges, calendars, trading cards, the list goes on for quite a while.  You pick the picture you want on it, put in the text, choose the colors, and just like that, it makes it for you for free.  You can then save it on your computer where you can print it, email it, or whatever for free.  It only costs if you want to order a print or have a high definition version of it.

This site proves that when you fill a significant need and provide a good service, it pays off.
