When a person preforms a search on a search engine, the search engine will try to find the most relevant website. The search engine will search the web for sites containing the keywords that the user typed into the search box.
With that concept in mind, it is a good idea to place yourself in the mind of someone that may be trying to find the information contained on your lens. What would they type in? What would they search for?
Whatever keyword or keywords that would most likely be used in the search, it would be beneficial to consider fitting them into the title of your lens and the URL.
Lets say I’m making a lens about gardening tips. I could make the lens title “Gardening,” but it would be better and more relevant if I named it, “Gardening Tips.” I could make my URL squidoo.com/gardening, but something more relevant such as squidoo.com/gardening_tips or squidoo.com/gardeningtips would be much better.
Most search engines will search the title of the page and even the url of the page to see if it is relevant to what the person searched for. So if you have the keywords that someone is searching for in the title of your Squidoo lens and the URL, you will have a greater chance of getting more traffic from search engines such as Google.
So to get more traffic to your Squidoo lenses, put relevant keywords into your title and URL. This will help your Squidoo lenses show up higher in the search engines, which should help you get more visitors.
