My first traffic building test was started to test the effectiveness of posting for traffic on pay per post forums.  What I was looking for was a two for one.  I originally wanted to test posting on regular forums for traffic, but then I thought that it would be cool if I could post on a forum and get some money for each post I made.

The Experiment

The original plan was to post 5 times a day on three pay per post sites which were, myLot, Crazoo, and MoraChat. I found out early on that 5 posts on each site was harder for me than I expected.

I posted casually, and had a link to my blog in my signature or on my profile. I didn’t go around blasting out my blog link because the pay per post sites I used discourage having links in posts.  I didn’t want to get banned from the sites, so I tried to follow the rules.

The Results 

The results are pretty sad, to be honest.

Posted 35 times on myLot and received 3 visitors from them

Posted 36 times on MoraChat and received 2 visitors from them

Posted 36 times on Crazoo and received 0 visitors from them

While the results are pretty grim, I imagine that if someone were to develop a good reputation on myLot, they could have done much better than I did.  I’m going to keep posting on them and then record what traffic I receive from them when I reach at least 100 posts.

Conclusion

I had fun posting on these forums, and I met a lot of people.  While I didn’t get much traffic from it, I did find one valuable aspect of these forums.  Many members of these forums are avidly looking for ways to make money online.  I managed to generate interest in EyeEarn, and I got 1 EyeEarn referral from MoraChat, and 4 EyeEarn referrals from myLot. All I did was share EyeEarn with the people on the forum, and have the signature to it in my signature.

So if you have a program you’d like to share with others, I recommend myLot as a good place to get referrals. Just don’t SPAM!!! Your account will be suspended if you do.  I recommend only sharing the program with the friends you make on the site through personal messages.
