When it comes to having a successful blog, you need a visitor friendly design. One that will keep visitors and not make them dizzy from going around and around in a clicking frenzy leading them nowhere.
Make your layout easy to navigate
You’ve probably been to those sites where you enter looking for something, but then get taken on a seemingly never ending carousel around their site causing you to leave without finding the information you needed. You know the information is there, but you just can’t get to it!
Navigating your blog or web site should come as second nature for your visitors. When someone comes to your blog or web site it shouldn’t take them forever to figure out how to get to where they need to. Don’t make it confusing, I recommend applying the KISS principle (Keep It Simple Stupid) to your layout.
Remember, we live in a society where everything is constantly getting faster. Visitors to your site will not want to spend more time figuring out how to navigate it than reading your content. Make it easy for them to get to the content they want.
Look at sites you that you felt were very easy to navigate around and take note of their layout. If you don’t have a visitor friendly layout you can bet that your visitors won’t stay long and very few will come back. Having a good layout will cause more visitors to come back, and it will increase your chances of more of your visitors sharing your site with their friends.
